Show & Tell Monday

Before I get into my show & tell, I have a bit of Carrie trivia for you. The first song by Michale Nyman, here on my blog, called The Scene of Love, (I believe it is actually called The Scent of Love) is the song I got married to. I walked down the aisle after my wedding party by myself I might add, while this song played. If you listen to the entire thing (I hope you will), the end when the violins come in, is where I came in as well. It give me chills and tears every time I listen to it. I just had to share and I hope you enjoy it.

This weekend I relaxed, listened to music, and painted. It has been so long since I have painted anything. It was almost therapeutic, like having a fresh canvas to create whatever you dream of. I am redoing my little workspace and right now everything is in the beginning stages. I even put my kids to work painting (which they loved). My dear husband doesn't see my vision and thinks I am crazy painting over my wooden shelves, wall hangings and wire baker's rack in black. I keep telling him to be patient, it will all come together. I am sort of leaning towards a Parisian theme, I found some great papers and want to use them on my shelves and these wooden signs I have. I didn't get to take pictures yet, but I will document the stages and put it all up when I am finished. Hopefully I won't procrastinate on this project for too long. I have a tendency to start things and get sidetracked. LOL.

For my Show & Tell this week I painted and embellished this box. I found this gorgeous bird paper and couldn't resist. I am not sure if I want to include a journal inside or just sell it as it is. I got a new toy and will be making and selling spiral notebooks/journals as well now. Hopefully I will have a sample for you next week!

I also have been working on a few Christmas things. I know you are thinking, not more tags! I couldn't resist. When I was trying to come up with things to make for Christmas in July, the first thing that came to mind was fancy Christmas tags. I also attached a little tag to each decorated tag that has a holiday sentiment written on it and a place to write who it is for. I figured this way you don't have to actually write on the embellished tag, and it can be used for other things. I am thinking of selling them in sets of 3 or 5, mixed sizes (0h, and some as you can see will have Pei Li's amazing miniatures on them as well).

Thank you for visiting and I wish you a wonderful week ahead!

Beautiful song Carrie. I love your new projects. Those tags would be beautiful hanging on a Christmas tree. I have 4 tags I loved so much I could never use them. I hang them in my kitchen window at Christmas so I can enjoy them.
