Honest. . . really

I would like to thank Andie of Brown Bee Studio, Debbie of My Cozy Cottage World and Shannon of Shabby Shan's Cottage for giving me the Honest Scrap award. To accept this award I must thank each of them and provide a link to each of their blogs. I also have to share 10 honest things about myself, display a copy of the Honest Scrap image and pass it along to 7 other people. Ok, here goes.

1. I haven't seen my "real" hair color since I was 12.
2. I recently wanted something sweet so bad I broke off a chunk of a 1lb block of chocolate and dunked it in the peanut butter jar.
3. I am rather quite and a bit of an introvert.
4. I went to a lot of concerts in my 20's.
5. I feel most creative listening to loud rock/punk music although I love jazz and blues equally as much.
6. I love cats and would have 20 if my husband would let me. We currently have 2.
7. I have really, really bizarre dreams.
8. I drink a ton of water each day and hate coffee. . . yes, I said it.
9. I don't like having my picture taken.

1
0. My husband gave me a video game system for my 30th birthday. (Yes, I am a big nerd)

Ok, I am tagging:
1. Georgia of Grandma G's
2. Susan of My Vintage Charm
3. Michelle of The Raspberry Rabbits
4. Nancy of Coeur d'Alene
5. Karen of Jackson Square Etc.
6. Caroline of Carolee Crafts

7. Jennifer of Cottage Flair

I can't wait to see what you all have to say!

Feelin' Pink

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend. I have been relaxing and shopping and relaxing some more! I wanted to share a few things I found while out treasure hunting last week. I also noticed without realizing it. . I am on a bit of a pink kick now. It was blue, and now I am in a pink mood. If just makes you feel so warm and fuzzy. Alright, first up is this pretty pitcher. I just love it!

This desk organizer is really great. It needs a tiny bit of tlc but I just couldn't pass it up.

I also found this vanity tray. My mom had one just like it when I was a kid.

I couldn't resist a pretty little rose china plate from England.

I also received another great vintage jewelry box. This one is in excellent condition and blue! I can't wait to get my hands on it!

I wanted to show you some treats I got at my favorite paper store. Bits of German scrap, rub-ons and a cute little box.

Finally, back to pink and some new paper. The bunny one is Japanese handmade paper and the pink/white one is from Italy. I can't wait to use them in my projects this week! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Cherished Memories

One memory I will always cherish is spending time in my grandmother's sewing room. She had a large cabinet filled with fabrics and notions and I would spend time playing with her massive button collection watching her current creation hanging in the doorway.

I think the idea of having a special space for your favorite things is the inspiration behind these little treasure chests. I just love the way they look all filled up with pretty notions. I often wonder how they will be used by their new owners. The best part of course for me is finding all the yummy things to put inside. The hunt is always part of the fun.

I am really excited because some of my new vintage jewelry boxes are arriving. I can't wait to get my hands on this one. Know why?

Yes, it is pink!! Does it get any better? The wheels are turning for this one. I may just work on it now, I can hardly contain myself.

Won't you please join us this week for Pink Friday and find something to special for your Cherished Memories. Click the link below for a complete list of boutiques. Happy Shopping

A New Treat and Fun in the Sun!

We had to postpone Mother' Day since we were sick last weekend. Well, yesterday we had a lovely get together and my mom got me the most beautiful dress form. I just love it!

I am slowly forming a collection of them. Now all I need is an amazing studio to keep them in.
Ahh. . someday. . . moving on.

We had a really warm day here today and my little ones had their first day in the water this year. We filled water balloons for them and they had a blat Here is Francesca after getting soaked.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful week!

Inspirations

So many things inspire us. Right now we love this paper. It is a bit art deco and so dreamy. We did some great jumbo tags with it,

and some pretty colbalt blue bottles as well.

This one is collaged all the way around and topped off with lace and roses.

We even used this great paper on a vintage jewelry box we found,

and filled with tons of our favorite vintage finds.

All of these items and more are available this week for Pink Friday! Visit us and all the boutiques of Make Mine Pink for Romantic Roses this Friday, May 15th!

Back in the Groove

I want to introduce to you to Betty Rose. A while back I showed her to you (naked). My kids named her Betty, not sure exactly why. They keep drawing pictures of how she would look with a head and limbs. lol They want her to stay but my hopes are she will find a good home.

She really has so much to offer, lots of vintage jewelry and so much class.

Her skirt is vintage lace and pearls adorned with embellished tags and jewels.

Though she is a bit "worn" it really lends to her charm.
In the back is a pretty bustle and floral nosegay.

It was so much fun bringing her to "life." She is currently available for purchase on our site. Maybe we can find a friend for her one day.
