Beautiful Inspiration

This week I wanted to share with you a beautiful site and blog (blogs) I stumbled upon. They are called Arte Ego. The artist is Alicja and she is just the sweetest person ever. She lives in Poland which is where her business is based. I have been talking to her and hope to be carrying her charms in my shop by this fall! I am so excited and think she is an amazing talent!

Here is the link to her first blog. http://alicja-arteego.blogspot.com
It is in Polish but she has google translator available to translate. Her other blog which features her charms is listed in my favorite blogs to the right. I encourage you to take a look.

She also has an amazing site with beautiful new and vintage pieces, Again, you can use google translator to help view it (it is so worth the trouble). It is http://www.arteego.pl/

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

It's All in the Details

Lately I have been in a bit of a creative slump. I know it happens to everyone from time to time. It was really getting frustrating though. I thought I would step back for a while and see if my creative mojo returned. I found myself thinking more about the details in things rather than having a "plan" for what I wanted to make. I began gathering my materials focusing only on the colors and details in things. They began to come together and take form. Above are two "altered tussies."

This one began with just the picture of the girl and some lace.

This one reminded me of a woman with the dress and the cone of the tussie is her shoe.

Here is a close up. I used all vintage laces and trims for this one.

Finally there are two journals in shades of blue, again the details play a large part in the overall look and feel of the piece.

The paper for this one I held on to for over 2 years before I finally was ready to use it. She was just so beautiful I didn't want to let her go. These creations and more will be available this Friday, June 19th for Pink Friday. Please be sure to visit all of the participating boutiques for some wonderful Favorite Finds this week!

Tiny Dancer

This first weekend of summer vacation was spent doing some major cleaning and organizing, as well as watching my daughter's ballet recital. There was a little time however for creating a few new goodies. This is a peek at an art deco inspired journal.

We also have some new deco tag sets as well. I just love this line of papers!

Finally, I just had to share some pictures of my tiny ballerina. She had her spring recital on Saturday. We get a little ballet break until the Fall. She wants to play t-ball instead this summer. As you can tell she was all smiles!

Here they are dancing to "A Whole New World."

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a lovely week! We have our calenders marked and are ready for some summer fun!

I've said it before. . ..

I'll say it again. I love dress forms. Just the shape alone fills me with joy. I'm not quite sure why, but I have always been drawn to them.

These tags are really addictive. You can just sit for hours and play dress up so to speak.

I sometimes think if I wasn't busy playing with paper and trims I would be doing something in fashion. It really is my 2nd love.

We hope you enjoy our new dress form tags and will stop by and check them out. While your at it join us Friday, June 12th for Pink Friday Along the Garden Path.

Another Year Older. . .

Another year older and wiser. . . lol well, older anyways. We had a lovely day and I thought I would share a few pictures of my birthday. This cake my mom made was sooooo good, dark chocolate and raspberries. Does it get any better?

Happy Birthday to me. .

Here we are serving up the cake. Oh, I wish you could taste it!

Here are my little ones, not so little anymore. My free spirited, independent little woman.

My handsome boy. .
It was a wonderful day spent with family. It doesn't get much better than that. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful week!

Who's Got The Button?

Like many of you out there I love vintage buttons and old bottles. The two put together are a match made in heaven for me. I thought I would share some of my latest pairings of the two. The first is my favorite. It is a vintage seed jar filled with a variety of blues buttons.

This is a little custard bowl filled with pink buttons and tied with vintage lace.

Next is another little bottle with caramel and creams.

Finally this is a great small jar full of various notions and lace. Fun for creating! All these and more are available on our site, Noelle Garrett Designs. As always, thanks for visiting and have a lovely first week of June!
