Just a Few of My Favorite Things

This week I thought I would share a few of my new favorites. We found these great little cloches and these pretty vintage plates. I am rather partial to this blue one.

This one has a pretty floral plate and lots of vintage lace.

This journal is was done in my head when I first saw the paper. I just loved the deep red and cream polka dots.

Last up is a soft blush colored journal with a bit of a Paris theme. These are just a few of the new things we have been busy with and are currently available on our site. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your week!

Show and Tell

I have been having the best time treasure hunting lately. I have been hitting some great antique shops, thrift stores and flea markets. I wanted to share a few of my finds with you. First up is this great vintage washboard. I can't wait to get my hands on it! I also got some great vintage photos from magazines, old letters (so fun to read- these were rather juicy I might add), more buttons (never enough) and a great book from the 1800's.

Next are these old player piano rolls. I just love them! I have so many ideas on how to use them but most of all I just love the way they look.

My favorite score is this dressform. I already have a plan for it and I just can't wait to get started on it. I am on the fence about keeping it or selling it. I guess we will have to see how she looks in the end!

Finally, this is a new "Marie" garland. I am really into this shade of blue right now. It just feels so serene.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Giving Old Life to New Things

One of my favorite things to do is find a diamond in the rough.
This vintage jewelry box was such fun to adorn with unique papers and vintage flowers.
This is how the top of the box turned out. It has hand made vintage flowers and vintage sheet music.
It has a pretty new lining and red velvet drawers.
The top layer is filled with a mix of vintage trims, millinery flowers, bits of vintage charms, vintage buttons and so much more.
Here is a close up of some of the goodies.
The next section is filled with vintage lace and a glass bottle full of old pearls, charms, glitz and sparkle.
Next is a mix of tea dyed tags tied with a pretty vintage crystal, more layers of lace and trims and pretty ephemera. The bottom drawer is full of buttons, papers and unique pictures. This beautiful treasure along with several others will be available this Friday, April 17th for Pink Friday and "Keeping it Green." As Time Goes By. . .

Tomorrow is our 8th wedding anniversary. I can't believe how quickly it has gone by. I thought I would share a few pictures from our special day. This is where we got married and had the reception. Pasadena City Hall Courtyard. It is a very old and beautiful building. We like to take the kids there to run around and explore while we reminisce. Now truth be told, we don't have any digital photos of our wedding. I think it was just as digital was becoming more the norm. We did have an excellent photographer though and a beauitful album to cherish.

A quick story, while we were saying our vows 2 white doves flew over us. This was not planned and we didn't bring them. They were in the rafters and the whole wedding stopped for a moment when we heard and saw these beautiful doves fly over us above. Only one person got a photo of this. We think it was a sign as we have been truly happy and blessed in our marriage.

There is a large fountain in the middle of the courtyard and the reception was there with tables surrounding it.

To this day the pure aesthetics of the place just take my breath away.

Thanks for sharing in my stroll down memory lane. As I had mentioned once before, the song I walked down the aisle to is on my blog, The Scent of Love, if you would like to listen. While 8 years may not seem like much, we know it is only the beginning. My parents celebrate their 49th in next week and my in-laws just had their 41st yesterday. We are so fortunate to have such amazing examples of how it can be done and still very much in love.

Tuesday Treasures

Today I was out and about. . doing a bit of treasure hunting. I thought I would take a moment to share a few things I found. It was a good day and definitely sparked my creative side. I am just itching to play in my studio!

I found some great vintage lace, pearls and wooden spools. I just can't get enough spools. To think of all the ones we threw away when I was a kid! I also got this great rusty blue-green urn and three petite cloches. I may fix them up before selling them. . not sure yet. They are sort of pretty just as they are. I also have this wonderful handmade black and cream toile apron. It is simply scrumptious.

This white porcelain pedestal was too pretty to pass up! With any luck these and many other wonderful finds will be up throughout the week in one form or another. Thanks for peeking into my treasure trove.
