Dusting Off The Cobwebs. . . .

Yes I am finally getting a quiet moment to do a little blog post. It has been a busy summer with most of it spent doing painting projects around the house and keeping little hands and minds busy and out of trouble! :) I always think once everyone is asleep I will sneak out and give my poor neglected blog some love but next thing I know I have knocked out for the night. Just not a night owl, never have been!

One project I recently finished was embellishing this old wicker dress form I came across. I used lots of vintage lace and some handmade coffee filter flowers. Her name is Annie and she is now available here!

I have been playing around and making all sorts of flowers lately out of various papers including coffee filters and am loving the results. So quick and easy to do. I would do a tutorial but there are so many out there I just played around and found what worked for me.

We also added several new journals to the shop and have more coming soon!

We have completed several paint projects the last few weeks. Here is our fireplace getting prepped for it's makeover. It was painted an awful burgundy and white when we moved in. I have been itching to change it and finally just went for it!

Here is the finished product! It is painted "white muslin" with black interior. We don't plan on using it so I am hoping to get some large pillar candles for it and eventually a large vintage mantle to put in front. In the mean time it looks so much better than our old eyesore. I am now anxious to paint the rest of the living room and hopefully we will tackle that monster this fall. We also painted my son's room and our bedroom which was a major redo. I will share those with you soon. :)

Between the painting and creating, and with everyone home for just a few more weeks I am spending as much time as possible just hanging out and having fun with my family! Lots of day trips including this one to the L.A. Arboretum, one of our favorite hangouts!

Happy Summer!
