A Break to Recharge

I know from time to time we all need a little break to recharge our batteries. Well, after a long, busy, fun week I was ready to disconnect for a few days. Without thinking I walked over to the bookshelf and grabbed my old standby. I wonder if we all have one of those? A book that we go to every few years or so. It brings comfort, and even though you know the ending, you get whisked away into another time . . anticipating perhaps something different may happen this time in the end. While this isn't your typical feel good, happy ending story, it is one of my favorites. Come to think of it, my favorite stories have always been a little "dark." This has been my go to book since I first read it many years ago as a student. Kate Chopin has always been a favorite author of mine as well . . a woman in many ways ahead of her time. So I have spent the last few days, book in hand, letting my creative mind rest a bit.

Now as a new week is about to begin. I feel clear headed, ready to work on some of the projects which have been resting on my work table.

Included in my stash are these bright, bubble gum colored tinsels that just called out to me. I can't wait to see what becomes of them. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time and a special book to help you recharge in the midst of a long, hot summer.

Carrie, The cover of your book is a great big painting that hangs here in Raleigh in the North Carolina Museum of Art. It is one of my favorites. I love to just sit and look at it. I've yet to see a print that captures how bright the colors truly are. It is very sunny! Can't wait to see what coming up next with you. Hugs, Tedi www.PetiteBookstore.com/blog
