A Vintage Rose Weekend!

I have to start off this post by saying these pictures do not do justice to the absolutely beautiful creations you are about to see. I was so swept up in all the sights and sounds of the Dallas market last weekend, that I came home realizing I only took a handful of pictures. I hope however, it gives you a nice little tour of the Vintage Rose Boutiques booth and shows you all the hard work we put into making this market a successful one. Here is a picture of us at the end of day 2. We were really tired but so excited to all be together for the first time. From left to right we are, Kimberly (My Pink Boutique), Peggy (So Shabby Pink), Me (Noelle Garrett Designs), Lori (Katie's Rose Cottage Designs) and Erica of Meadow Street.

The booth really was so dreamy. A sea of creams, pastels and vintage inspired pieces. I was fortunate enough to spend a few hours perusing the whole venue and I have to say there was nothing else there like us. Our booth was truly unique not that I am biased but it had to be one of the most beautiful ones there!

As you entered the left of the booth first up was So Shabby Pink. Peggy's yummy pastel color palette was so inviting. I love her jars with handmade roses. I have visions of them filled with buttons and pretty notions. The flower pots and wooden boxes are equally wonderful and there are just so many things you can do with them! I am a storage junkie and am always looking for unique ways to display my work supplies. I think Peggy's creations are just delightful and she has such attention to detail. . not to mention she is just one of the sweetest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. :)

As you continued on the left side, you made your way to our display.

We had our garlands hung from a beautiful set of shutters and a display board with our tags. I really wish my business partner aka mom could have been there. She was really missed and hopefully will be able to join us in the future.

It was so neat seeing all the hours spent working finally come together. I felt like for the first time since this journey started I could really just relax and enjoy the experience. I have to say. . this has really given me a whole new way of looking at how I design and create. I still love doing one of a kind pieces but I am already working on a new line for later this year. I have so many ideas brewing and just wish I had more hours in the day to execute them all.

As you continued to the right, next was Katie's Rose Cottage Designs.

Lori did such a pretty job with her display. She really is just as sweet and genuine in person and you would imagine her to be. It was such a pleasure to meet her and her youngest daughter who also stopped by to visit. I have been a fan of hers for a while and have shopped at Katie's Rose Cottage in the past. Her new line of vintage inspired jewelry is so beautiful you just want to surround yourself in it! You have to go check out her new site.

Next up were the delightful creations of My Pink Boutique!
Kimberly is such a talent. Her faux pastries are gorgeous and truly look good enough to eat! Unless you knew they were not real, one could easily think they were made by a pastry chef. She does such intricate design work on each piece.

I really enjoyed talking with Kimberly. She is mom to young ones as am I and such a sweet and down to earth person. It was truly a pleasure finally getting to meet her and see her beautiful work in person.

Last but certainly not least was Meadow Street. Erica is a California girl as am I and we shared the adventure of flying to Dallas together. We talked the entire flight and it was so great getting to meet her. We swapped mom stories and got to have some grown up conversation for a change. It was such a joy and I can't tell you how much I learned from her about market and wholesale. She is a wealth of knowledge and it was a joy to spend time with her.

Her roses really grabbed the attention of passersby. We were all lucky enough to wear one each day. They are gorgeous in person and I can see why they are so popular.

Another fun part of Dallas was meeting so many wonderful people from all over the country and the world! We had the pleasure of having Brenda of Just A Bed of Roses and her daughter Shellie stop by our booth. What a treat! It is really something how the Internet and a shared love creating has brought us all together. What really struck me was in person it was just like a bunch of old girlfriends getting together to have a fun weekend. It was such an amazing learning experience for me and I can't wait to do it all over again! For now I will be hard at work getting orders ready and looking ahead to what comes next on this wonderful adventure. Thank you so much for stopping by, and for joining us on this journey. :)

Set Up Has Begun!

This Post is from the Vintage Rose Boutiques blog. I wanted to share and show you some pictures of how set up is going.

The ladies of Vintage Rose Boutiques were very busy today setting up our booth. The excitement of Market is building and we know it's going to be a good one. Here's a few pictures.

We're in booth #2327 on the 12th floor of the World Trade Center.
If you're at Market, don't forget to stopy by and say Hi!

Here's what setup looks like. It's a hustle and bustle of boxes, packing tape, yards and yards of bubble wrap and of course, papers. Papers for this and papers for that.

And more papers....

Here's Lori's dress form so pretty all dressed up for a great show!

Here's our booth nearing completion. Peggy's, Erica's, Carrie's and Lori's lines are beautiful. Kimberly's faux pastries are coming on Thursday.

Stay tuned. We'll be back with more great pictures!

So Much To Share!

Well Christmas sort of came and went around here and while it was nice, I for one am aready for the new year! I have so many wonderful things going on and I can't wait to share so I will just dive right in.

I want to start by thanking Marie of Savon Marie for the most wonderful package I received in the mail the other day. I was so fortunate to win her blog contest to name her newest soap, "Sweet Embrace."

Now I wass hoping to get some pictures taken of all the amazing goodies she sent but my children (who love her soap just as much as I do) grabbed the goodies and literally ran to the bathroom to "play" with everything. Here are a few of her photos of some of the lovely things I received. Thank you so much Marie for a wonderful after Christmas present.
If you haven't tried her products I suggest you hop on over and see all the wonderful things she has to offer.

My favorite scents are the almond, vanilla and strawberries and cream. Yum!

Next up I wanted to share a little update on our trip to the Dallas Gift Market! We are wrapping up a few details and packing up to head out in a few weeks! Here is a look at just a few of the new lines we have developed for Spring 2010.

We are working to get all of the collections up on our site shortly (you can view them here) and will begin accepting pre-orders for both retail as well as wholesale.

It has been a long journey but we are learning so much and are very excited with the new items we have to offer.

Finally, I wanted to share some of the new things we just listed. We are so excited for Valentine's Day to arrive as it is one of our favorite holidays. We have lots of pretty paper creations including pixies (pictured in the beginning of the post), tags, Valentines. . and these adorable little tins filled with mini cards. We will be continuing to list new items throughout the week and be sure to sign up for our newsletter as well. We will be announcing our reopening early next week with special treats for our subscribers only! Thanks for visiting and we hope you and yours have a truly wonderful and safe New Year!

The Finished Product

Here they are! I didn't think I would get them ready. . you see, I have a bad habit of starting one project and then moving on and starting another. You see the pattern. . . My distraction this time is something I am so excited about! A furniture makeover which I will begin very soon and blog as I go. I found an amazing old desk for $12.00 and a great chair for $5.00, but more on them later. Here are the journals.

The first one is actually an off white color, it looks a bit cream in the picture.

Next up is the soft rose.

Last up is the blue-gray, my favorite.
These will be available for wholesale in the color of your choice and will debut at the Dallas Market in January. I may also carry them on my site for retail as well. Thanks for stopping by and my next blog post is #200 so I'd better come up with something good. .. maybe a giveaway. :)

A look at things to come. .

I thought I would give a little preview of one of the new journal designs we are working on for the Dallas Market in January. This is part of our spring line of new journals, tags, garlands and tussie mussies. This particular design offers three color variations. They are in the beginning stages but I am loving the vintage wallpaper and beautiful ephemera! Check back on Tuesday for a look at the finished product.
